This production of contemporary dance, by Lucy Guerin Company, was about communication and technology, and the seemingly increased complexity brought about by our increased ability to communicate. The message getting lost in the medium. And the onslaught of media and communications aimed at us. The image for the work, then, was stripped away and layered over with a series of halftones and standardised digital processes. It was corrupted by overuse. The typography was a combination of standardised typefaces (one from a typewriter, one from a receipt), and became a sea of ascii information with emerging patterns/abstractions.
