The Pond was a two month 'pop-up' bar that was commissioned to promote the preservative free, low-carbohydrate beer Pure Blonde. A disused urban site was chosen and rejuvenated to create an idyllic outdoor garden bar for the summer. We were commissioned for the graphic design work, and based the work on this idea of rejuvenation by using printers makeready sheets as the paper stock, naming the bar with letters recycled from the name of the beer, and 'cleaning' signage at the site instead of applying paint or vinyl. This involved hours with an angle-grinder scraping paint from a brick wall and a mobile rubbish skip that was planted with a garden and moved around the city as a pre-opening campaign.
