The Hawker's Song

This is an edition of video works by a collaborative team of Australian and Cambodian artists including our close friend and collaborator Keith Deverell. It has been shown in various iterations and locations as part of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, in Cambodia, and as part of the 'Video, an Art, a History, 1965 - 2010' exhibition at the Singapore Art Museum, presented by the Centre Pompidou and Singapore Art Museum.

The edition of five collects nine works in a custom made box and a book capturing and explaining the project. The book was printed by A Small Press and Dawn Press and hand bound with foil-stamped box-board cover by Ort Bindry. The box was also made by Ort Bindery, with a hidden magnetic seal and using 'worthless' old Cambodian Riel as binding paper, with a different denomination for each of the editions.

Information

Chase & Galley is a small design studio based in Melbourne with a critical interest in print publication design. The studio is peopled by Stuart Geddes and Tristan Main.

Chase & Galley started life as a collaboration between Stuart Geddes and Jeremy Wortsman, emerging from their first project together - Is Not Magazine. Due to his expanding commitments to the Jacky Winter Group, which he founded, Jeremy left the studio.

Stuart continues a teaching relationship with RMIT and Monash Universities, is on the board of West Space, one of Melbourne's most prestigious and innovative ARIs, was for two years the art director of Monument magazine, was for two years a councillor for AGDA Victoria, and in 2008 was an international judge on the London D&AD awards in the Newspaper and Magazine design jury.
